Living and Working in Nampa

Nampa is Idaho’s second largest city, located just minutes from Boise in the heart of Canyon County. This scenic southwestern region is home to Idaho’s wine country, rich with grapes and fruit orchards, thanks to the rich farmland along the Snake River.

With nearly 87,000 residents, Nampa is a city with a strong sense of history and a local economy fueled by agriculture and higher education. Railroads played a major part in Nampa’s founding and expansion, and today the original train depot houses the Canyon County Historical Museum.

Nampa and its sister city, Caldwell, are home to two of Idaho’s top schools: the College of Idaho and Northwest Nazarene University. They’re also home to two of the top professional rodeos in the nation: the Snake River Stampede and the Caldwell Night Rodeo.

The region is also a great place to get outdoors. Nampa has a number of well-maintained parks and is close to Lake Lowell, Deer Flat National Wildlife Refuge, and the World Center for Birds of Prey—great locations for hiking, bird watching, boating, and fishing.

St. Luke’s Nampa Medical Plaza opened in 2012 to meet the growing need for healthcare services in Canyon County. The plaza includes a 24-7 emergency department, lab and imaging services, and physician clinics, with plans to expand over the next decade.
