About Tyson R. Jakobson

Biography

Tyson R. Jakobson, PA-C, MPAS has been working in hand and wrist orthopedics for over a decade. During this time, he has trained with five board-certified orthopedic hand surgeons to build a practice of non-operative and minimally invasive treatments for hand and wrist pathologies. Tyson enjoys evaluating new patients, developing treatment plans to support fast recovery, and following up to ensure successful outcomes. He frequently manages conditions such as trigger finger, carpal tunnel syndrome, De Quervain’s tenosynovitis, Dupuytren's disease, ganglion cyst, and hand and thumb osteoarthritis. He also cares for injuries to the hand and wrist such as fractures and injuries to tendons, nerves, and ligaments. He has a passion for treating Dupuytren's disease with non-operative Xiaflex® treatments.

Tyson is on adjunct faculty with Touro University Nevada and Idaho State University physician assistant programs. He is also a clinical preceptor to physician assistant students throughout the year. Tyson graduated high school in Caldwell, earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Boise State University, and worked with the Bogus Basin Ski Patrol for two seasons prior to completing his physician assistant master’s degree at Touro University Nevada.

Tyson is very active and enjoys adventures with his family, boating, snowmobiling, mountain biking and snow skiing. He loves coaching his sons in their sports endeavors as well, including lacrosse, basketball, baseball, soccer and football.
