This half-circle garden, which includes a waterfall feature, is full of colorful plants that attract butterflies. It, too, is located just outside the chemotherapy suite, so patients can watch the butterflies play.
The McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden was originally planted on the Magic Valley Regional Medical Center's south campus in 1997. It honored the late spouses of Twin Falls philanthropists Barbara McKain and Jim Kinney. Ms. McKain and Mr. Kinney generously financed the costs for the garden's site excavation and irrigation and electrical systems; their generous gifts transformed a hospital parking lot into a living, thriving garden.
The McKain-Kinney Remembrance Rose Garden grew in its original location for 10 years, as members from the community and the hospital staff steadily filled the garden with plants, paving stones, statuary, and benches in memorial to their loved ones. The statuary, trellises, benches, water features, and plaques were moved to the new garden at the new medical center in 2011.
