At St. Luke’s Cancer Institute, we know your journey with cancer doesn’t end when treatment is complete. More people are surviving cancer than ever before—nearly 63,000 cancer survivors are living in Idaho today, with an estimated 13 million across the U.S.
If you’re a cancer survivor, or are living with cancer, you know your world has changed dramatically. Please go easy on yourself, and don’t be afraid to ask for help from your family, friends, and caregivers. And remember that our survivorship team is here for you, every step of the way.
Our program is open to cancer survivors in our community, regardless of where you received your care. We’ll help you understand not only where you’ve been, but where you’re going, and what you can do to live the best life possible.

Your Survivorship Appointment
At your survivorship appointment, you’ll meet with an oncology nurse practitioner and a social worker. You’ll have the chance to ask questions, share concerns, and set goals for a healthy future. Most visits last 60 minutes.During this visit, you’ll receive:
- A personalized treatment summary and survivorship care plan
- Education regarding follow-up care
- The opportunity to talk about physical, social, emotional, and spiritual needs and concerns
- Information about nutrition, physical activity, and integrative therapies
- Overview of cancer survivorship programs and resources
Key Components of a Healthy Survivorship
There are many things to consider as you adjust to life after cancer treatment. Our program will provide a treatment summary and care plan to guide your health management moving forward. We’ll also help you reduce further health risk, navigate long-term physical and emotional effects of treatment, and address practical concerns such as managing medical bills and balancing your “new normal.”Learn more about a healthy survivorship
