Nadine Carter, DNP, FNP-C earned her bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Idaho and a bachelor's degree in nursing from Idaho State University. She earned her Doctorate of Nurse Practice for Primary Care Family Nurse Practitioner from the University of Utah. Before becoming a nurse practitioner, Nadine worked as a float pool nurse at St. Luke's in Boise, where she first became passionate about caring for people with diabetes, eventually becoming a diabetologist. Nadine also spends several weeks each year as a medical staff and cabin counselor with Idaho Diabetes Youth Programs at Camp Hodia.
Sherwin D'Souza, MD focuses on various aspects of endocrinology, including diabetes, and provides cutting-edge care using a team-based approach.
Dr. D'Souza is a fellow of the American College of Endocrinology. He is the medical director of St. Luke's Endocrinology and Humphreys Diabetes Center, and also serves as medical director of the Physician Assistant Program at Idaho State University.
Michael Holyoak, DO has professional interest in pituitary disorders, thyroid cancer, and diabetes technology. After completing his medical education in the Midwest, he is happy to be back in Idaho, his home state, offering endocrine care to the Treasure Valley community.
In his free time, Dr. Holyoak enjoys camping, hiking, and fishing with his family.
Anna-Marie Houtrouw, NP is board certified in advanced diabetes management. She has a passion for helping people develop skills to manage life with diabetes.
Anna-Marie earned her bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her master's degree in nursing from Samford University. In her free time, she enjoys being active in her church and running with her dogs.
William Malone, MD provides specialty care for people with endocrine issues, such as diabetes, thyroid conditions, adrenal and pituitary disorders, osteoporosis, and obesity.
Shanaz Sikder, MD is an endocrinologist with special interests in thyroid cancer, and adrenal disorders. During her time at the National Institutes of Health, she trained under the world's experts in endocrinology as well as rare disorders. She also conducted clinical research in diabetes and insulin resistance in the South Asian population.
In her free time, Dr. Sikder enjoys yoga, traveling, the outdoors, and great food.
Roger Turcotte, MD specializes in providing primary care for adults, especially those with chronic medical conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, kidney disease, and others. He has a special interest and expertise in the treatment of diabetes, including type 1 diabetes, and patients with complicated type 2 diabetes. Dr. Turcotte works in close collaboration with Brittany Matthews, NP.
Johannes Veldhuis, MD specializes in lipidology, with a focus on patient education and care. He has experience in endocrinology and metabolism with an emphasis on clinical pituitary, gonadal, and adrenal diseases and lipidology. Dr. Veldhuis has been associated with the Mayo Clinic in Rochester where he both trained and practiced. He is also a member of the National Lipid Association.
Benjamin R. Watson, PA-C specializes in adult endocrinology. He earned his associate's degree from the College of Southern Idaho, and his bachelor's degree in biology and master's degree in physician assistant studies, both from Idaho State University.
Stacie Woods, PA-C, BC-ADM, earned her bachelor’s degree from Idaho State University in clinical laboratory science. She earned her master’s degree from University of Washington, MEDEX program in physician assistant studies. She is also board certified in advanced diabetes management. Before becoming a physician assistant, Stacie worked as a medical laboratory scientist.
