St. Luke’s is dedicated to meeting your needs and keeping you safe during the COVID-19 crisis. And we know you’re committed to doing your part to protect yourself, your loved ones, and your community. Wear a mask in public. Keep a physical distance of at least six feet between you and others. Wash your hands often and for at least 20 seconds. Stay home if you don’t feel well. You do your part, and we’ll do ours. Together, we can work to curb the spread.
Appointment Options and Precautions
At St. Luke’s, we’ve made several changes in how we operate to help those coming to our hospitals and clinics avoid exposure to the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
- Virtual visits through the myChart app. Many primary care and specialty visits can now take place by phone or video chat, so you don’t have to leave home. Your doctor’s staff will contact you to schedule, or you can call them to learn more.
- Phone check-ins. Many clinics are now checking in patients online or over the phone before you enter the facility. This cuts down on the time you spend in the lobby. We also offer online check-ins for myChart users.
- Patient, visitor and employee screenings. For patients and visitors, we do a "signs and symptoms” evaluation before allowing entrance.
- Increased cleaning of facilities. A clean facility is always vital, but during the COVID-19 crisis, we’re taking even more steps to ensure safe, clean facilities.
- Fewer non-clinical employees on site. St. Luke’s now has more than 3,000 employees working from home. This allows critical support functions to continue while lowering the number of employees coming to our facilities each day.
- Universal masking. St. Luke’s requires masks in all of our facilities and procedural masks in every patient-care environment.
- Curbside outpatient pharmacy service. At our Boise, Meridian and Nampa hospitals, prescription drop-off and pickup is now a fully curbside service.
- Strict visitor policies. All facilities are limiting or excluding visitors. View the most current guidelines.

- Scheduling wellness visits and other appointments for children who are not sick in the morning only
- Scheduling appointments for children who are sick in the afternoon only
- Taking extra cleaning and disinfecting precautions
- All staff wearing masks and other personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Offering video visits for certain health issues
