Cystic Fibrosis Research

The St. Luke's Cystic Fibrosis Center of Idaho is proud to participate in research studies aimed at advancing care for patients with cystic fibrosis. We evaluate each patient against study criteria to identify potential candidates for participation. Participation in any study is completely voluntary.

Our patients participate in two types of studies:

  1. Interventional trials are managed under controlled conditions to determine whether experimental treatments, or new ways of using known therapies, are safe and effective.
  2. Observational studies address health issues in large groups of people or populations in natural settings.

Any patient with cystic fibrosis is welcome to participate in research studies conducted through our center if they meet study criteria, and their primary CF care provider approves. If you're interested in a study that's not being conducted at our center, our research coordinators will refer you to a participating center.
