Rheumatology is a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of conditions and diseases that involve the joints, muscles, and bones. The most common concerns are osteoarthritis (the general breakdown of joint cartilage over time) and rheumatoid arthritis (systemic swelling in all or most joints at once). We also address osteoporosis and bone health with the goal of helping you achieve your best quality of life.
At St. Luke’s Clinic – Rheumatology, our team of specialists works closely with your referring provider to integrate and coordinate your plan of care. We also maintain an active research department that enables patients to participate in clinical trials, when appropriate. We provide care in an environment that is both high-tech and high-touch for the best experience and most positive outcomes for our patients.

Marcy Bauer, NP earned her bachelor’s degrees in business administration from the University of Puget Sound and in nursing from Boise State University. She earned her master’s degree in nursing (family nurse practitioner) from Gonzaga University. -

Regina Hanson, NP is an experienced nurse practitioner with a background in gastroenterology. She sees patients as part of St Luke’s Osteoporosis and Bone Health program.
Regina earned her nursing and nurse practitioner degrees from Idaho State University. She is from Idaho and her interests include hiking, camping, paddleboarding and cooking.

RheumatologyBiography
James E. Loveless, MD, FACR is fellow of the American College of Rheumatology. He specializes in the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus, psoriatic arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and Sjögren's syndrome. He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of osteoporosis and is the medical director of St. Luke's Osteoporosis and Bone Health program. He is actively involved in clinical trials investigating new treatments for arthritis and osteoporosis. Dr. Loveless completed his internal medicine residency and rheumatology fellowship at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
