Benaiah

Benaiah was diagnosed with leukemia when he was just four years old, and has fought like a warrior ever since. The family’s motto throughout three years of treatment has been “Defeat is not an option.”

“Hearing that your child has cancer can be the worst news that any parent will ever hear,” says Benaiah’s mom. “The good news is that you’re in the hands of the most talented, helpful, caring, and un-hospital like people we have ever met. Your child will be treated like a human, not just a patient. Cancer can easily steal so much from a child, but it doesn’t have to take away their identity.”

The family could not have made it without the support of family, and friends, she says, and they always chose to have joy and hope in the midst of the pain and sorrow. Benaiah never lost hope, not even once, and today he’s cancer-free and regaining the joyful life he had before cancer.
