Description

This is a puberty class for kids ages 9-12 and their parents. Puberty is a time of change for kids - and parents! This course (separate for boys and girls) provides a comprehensive overview of the bodily changes and emotional ups and downs that accompany early adolescence.

Topics include:

  • anatomy and physiology of both boys and girls;
  • relationships with parents and friends;
  • conception, pregnancy and birth;
  • and body image and self-esteem.

Experts in adolescent health address your child's concerns, including factual responses to questions about the opposite sex.

Pre-teens must be accompanied by a parent; mom, dad or both are welcome to attend. Please feel free to bring a snack and beverage to class.

If attending an all day Saturday class, please bring a sack lunch to class.

Coming Back Together

As in-person classes and events at St. Luke's resume, we have new guidelines intended to help keep us all safe and healthy.

1. Registration is required. Registration will help us manage class sizes, which must not exceed room capacity. Please mention any accompanying family or support people in your registration.

2. Masks are required. Facilitators and participants need to wear masks at all times, regardless of your vaccination status. We will provide medical procedural masks at the door.

3. Everyone will need to use hand sanitizer when entering the classroom and after returning from any breaks.

4. We will no longer offer food or beverages. You may bring your own snacks and drinks to be enjoyed on breaks away from the classroom. We encourage you to take them outside and away from others if possible. You may drink your own water in classes lasting longer than an hour, but we you must still wear your mask between drinks.
